Saturday the strike in the Hotel- and resturant business becomes even tougher when 2,500 more workers from Fellesforbundet puts on their yellow strike vests. The capacity at the patient hotel in Bergen will be halved as a result from this.

After nearly 3,500 members in 363 hotels and restaurants in six counties went on strike last weekend, will 2,447 colleagues in 209 companies in six new counties lay down work from Saturday.
In addition, the Federation announced a further escalation of the strike by 300 members in total 151 enterprises. But they are not removed before 12 May as they joined the union after 6 April.
The strike was a fact when the Federation and the Norwegian Hospitality Association had brokered for eleven hours overtime last Saturday. Unions saw no alternative but to go on strike because employers would not agree to demands for local bargaining rights. How long the strike will last is unclear at the moment.
– Currently there is no contact between the parties, says Vidar H. Grønli, information officer of Fellesforbundet, the news agency NTB on Thursday night.
