There may be higher toll prices or more toll stations to finance the E6 in Oslo East, where 15 kilometers of motorway will be repaired and partly laid in a tunnel.

The latest cost estimate is almost NOK 14 billion, but a financing plan for the project has not yet been made wrote Aftenposten newspaper. The plan is for motorists to receive parts of the bill and, according to the state, this has been referred to as a condition.

Project manager at the Norwegian Public Roads Administration for E6 Oslo East, Hilde Ulvik, said that a solution has been outlined, with 5.8 billion coming from the state. Then it was assumed that the remaining 8 billion would be taken as toll said Ulvik to the newspaper.

This means that separate toll stations must be set up to capture the traffic on the E6, or the prices in the existing toll system must be increased.

‘’We have assumed an increase of NOK 8 per pass in the toll ring in Oslo’’ said Ulvik and pointed out that such an increase requires political agreement next time Oslopakke 3 is renewed.
