Norwegian came to an agreement with Boeing to postpone the delivery of 14 737 MAX aircraft.

Norwegian also saved several billion dollars by postponing Airbus purchases.

So said Norwegian in two stock exchange announcements on Wednesday night.

The agreements have been entered into between Norway’s subsidiary Arctic Aviation Assets DAC and the two aircraft manufacturers.

The 14 Boeing aircraft were originally to be delivered in 2020 and 2021. The agreement with Airbus entails changes in deliveries of aircraft types A320neo and A321LR, but the number of aircraft are not stated.

Norwegian said the company will reduce its capital expenditure as a result of the Airbus agreement. It is about $670 million (around NOK 6 billion) in 2019 and 2020, and $2.4 billion (just over NOK 20 billion) over the next five years.
