Norwegian writing boards valued at 1 billion kroner

An American investment company is investing 135 million kroner in a Norwegian technology company that has developed a digital writing board valued at 1 billion kroner.

Technology company Remarkable has sold 100,000 units of the writing board since 2017, reports Dagens Næringsliv.

The product is a digital reading and writing board that you can note and draw on. It is developed in Norway and produced in China. It is not connected to a web browser.

According to the newspaper report on Tuesday, American company Spark Capital is investing in Norwegian technology.

According to the founder and CEO Magnus Haug Wanberg of Remarkable, the writing board is now valued at 1 billion kroner.

“This means a lot to us,” he said.

Spark Capital is one of the largest investment companies for start-ups in the US and manages 30 billion kroner in funds.

“We work with exceptional entrepreneurs who dare to be first and who make exciting products,” said Kevin Thau, partner at Spark Capital in a press release.
