Optimism will result in an increase for air traffic

In one year, traffic has increased by 4.2 percent.

– The strong increase in numbers of passenger domestic is connected to an improvement in the Norwegian economy since summer.

There is greater optimism among both businesses and individuals, says the director of traffic development in Avinor, Jasper Spruit.

The biggest increase is in number of passengers arrived in northern Norway, where Bodo Airport increased its traffic numbers by 7.3 percent compared with September 2015. In Tromsø traffic increased by 5.4 percent, while the Oslo Airport had an increase of 3.9 percent. Friday September 23th was the second busiest day ever at Oslo airport, with 94,631 passengers.

International traffic decreased 0.8 percent. This is because according to Avinor capacity cuts in Stavanger and Haugesund. Offshore traffic decreased by 18.8 per cent from September last year to September this year.
