Both NITO, Norwegian Manufacturing Industry and NSA have become more pessimistic. They think unemployment  will continue to grow into 2017.

This means that the organizations speak don’t agree with the conclusions of Statistics Norway (SSB), which recently estimated that unemployment will peak this year and fall slightly next year.
– Unemployment will continue to rise  in 2016, but unfortunately we are not as confident that things will turn around next year. It seems less certain now, says CEO Stein Lier-Hansen in the NHO Association Norwegian Manufacturing Industry,  .

He gets support from President Trond Markussen in Norway’s engineering and technology organization (NITO) and managing director Sturla Henriksen in NSA.
– If you had asked me a few months ago if I thought that it would peak by the end of 2016, I would have been more positive. Now I’m not so sure anymore. There has been and still is a larger amount of downsizing than we thought there would be,  Markussen, who believes the dismissals in engineering industry is about to go too far, says.

– We have come to a point where the companies cut  so many positions that it affects the level of competence in the companies. There is a risk that key competencies will be lost,  the  NITO head claims.
