Oslo to pay companies to reduce parking spaces

The City of Oslo introduces a so-called wreck collateral for job parking spaces. Companies can receive NOK 10,000 if they establish something else in old parking lots.

That’s what Dagbladet writes.

Environment Agency Arild Hermstad (MDG) says that companies can, for example, receive support if they establish a barbecue area, garden baskets, or chargers for electric bicycles in the parking lots. He is particularly concerned about the electric bicycles, and believes that many employees can replace the car to and from work, with electric bicycles.

– “We are also establishing a support scheme to help companies establish safe bicycle parking spaces and a number of other measures that make cycling easier for the job,” says Hermstad.
