Passenger Record on overseas trips and decline on domestic destinations

There was a record in July about the number of people flying overseas from one of Avinor’s airports. A total of just under 4.7 million passengers, a decline of 1.4 percent from 2015 because fewer traveled domestically.

Close to 2.5 million passengers traveled between Avinor airports and abroad in July. This is an increase of 1.4 percent from 2015, and a record number of international passengers at Avinor’s airports for a month, mentioned by Avinor.

– There are major differences between the various overseas markets. Turkey has seen a decline of 38 percent from last year.

Passengers have increasingly chosen traditional destinations such as Spain and Greece, which have had an increase of respectively 18 and 10 percent from July last year.

Croatia has also experienced strong growth with 18 percent and passed in July Turkey in number of passenger, mentioned by director of Traffic Development Avinor Jasper Spruit.

The number of passengers domestically decreased in July by 3.9 percent compared with last year but there is still growth of the largest airports in northern Norway.
A total of 4,662,316 passengers fly over Avinor airports in July.
