On  Wednesday Schibsted informed employees about plans to downsize the marketing and sales departments in Aftenposten, Bergens Tidende, Stavanger Aftenblad and Fædrelandsvennen.

The downsizing will probably be extensive and may involve between 40 and 50 positions,  industry newspaper Kampanje writes.
According to Kampanje , employees will be briefed on the plans at meetings Wednesday. Individual talks and severance packages will also be offered.
– I can confirm that there will be meetings at 9:00 am, but I can not comment any further than that now,  Schibsted Norway boss Didrik Munch says.
Schibsted decided before Christmas to merge the marketing and sales departments in the four subscription newspapers, with a total turnover of around 1.4 billion in advertising.
After the reorganizations all commercial activities in the four media houses will be merged into a single entity under the parent company Schibsted Norway.
