Rolv Erik Ryssdal of Schibsted Group wants all of Norwegian media to publish news stories on the same platform.

The initiative comes in connection with Norwegian media facing increasingly tougher competition for advertising revenue from global companies like Facebook and Google. The competition has further intensified after Facebook launched the article solution Instant Articles.
– I think it would be a smart move for Norwegian media to work together and find a way to exhange news content. That  is the advantage of Facebook, you can be at one place and get access to all the content there, Ryssdal says to Dagens Næringsliv.
He does not think Schibsted can become Norway’s answer to Facebook all by itself, but that cooperation between multiple media could create a strong competitor.
– We can not do it by ourselves. But with others also contributing, we can establish a Norwegian alternative to Facebook when it comes to news and similar content,  the Schibsted CEO says.
