Prime Minister Erna Solberg stated that there are less financial resources  available than before at the beginning of the government’s budget conference in Hurdal on Monday.
The situation is different from the situation in the past decade, the Prime Minister said and pointed to falling oil investment and rising unemployment in the country.
– We are facing major challenges related to low oil prices and the lessened activity affecting Southern and Western Norway, bringing higher unemployment than we are used to, Solberg said when she met the press with Minister of Finance Siv Jensen ahead of the three-day budget conference on Hurdalsjøen hotels in Akershus .
They both pointed out that the room to maneuver is less and uncertainty is greater because of  low oil prices, higher unemployment and  the uncertainty associated with the influx of asylum seekers. Meanwhile the Finance Minister stated that the  budget in election year 2017 will not be marked by cuts.
– But we need to prioritize harder , she said.
