Big revenue jump for forest owners

Large volume and high prices led to an overall revenue jump for Norwegian forest owners of 102 million in 2014.

On average  Norwegian forest owners made 41.000 NOK from logging and other activities, the newspaper Nationen. This is 4.000 NOK – or about 11 percent – more than the year before, according to the final figures from Statistisk Sentralbyrå. The income  amounted to an average of 7 percent of revenues to individual forest owners.

The amount of timber that was cut for sale totaled 9.8 million cubic meters, the largest volume in 25 years. In addition, the log prices have  not been higher since 2011.
