Agricultural revenue increased by 13% from 2014 to 2015. Higher prices, increased production, and a good harvest, resulted in increased revenue for most agricultural producers.

Farm-income increased by 37,500, to 326,800 per worker in 2015. These figures are according to the annual operating investigations conducted by the Norwegian Institute for Bio-economy (Nibio).

‘The main thrust is economic progress, and some of the greatest’, said senior adviser, Torbjorn Haukås, of Nibio.

The operating investigation included accounts from 908 users spread across the country. It was those that combine grain and pigs that showed the largest increase.

On average, the income of grain and pig farmers increased by 41%.

‘With an income of 440,000 per farmer, there were no other major modes of operation that paid off better last year’, concluded Nibio in the investigative report.
