Hotel companies in Stavanger had a sharp rally in August and tourism organization Region Stavanger says optimism has returned in the region.

– It is incredibly nice to see that optimism has returned, and hotel directors I talk to says that the autumn looks better than last year as well.

It is a clear signal that we are on the rise again and that the worst is over Elisabeth Saupstad in Region Stavanger , says to the newspaper Dagens Næringsliv.

Stavanger, Sola, Sandnes and Jæren, has had an increase in lodging revenues of 34.9 percent from August last year to the same month this year, which is the largest increase in all of Norway in the survey of Wiederstrøm Hotel Consulting, which has processed figures from Benchmarking Alliance.

Stavanger and Bergen is at a joint first place at the statistics, with revenue per room of over 1.000 kroner in August 2016.

Over thirteen Norwegian cities and destinations are included in the hotel statistics.
