Nav Rogaland is now preparing hundreds of long-term unemployed for the fact there will soon be an end to unemployment benefits.

When they lose unemployment benefits, there are many who are not entitled to social support.

From June 2014 to June 2016 28,000 people in Rogaland have received notice of termination or layoff.

In August there was  11,462 people on unemployment benefits in the county, of which 1434 people had five months or less left to the right of unemployment benefits. Nav will call them into a meeting, the  council for the municipality said.

-An increasing number will reach the limit of how long they are entitled to unemployment benefits, said Egil Teng, director of Nav in Rogaland to the newspaper Stavanger Aftenblad.

Many of the unemployed will not meet the requirements of social support, and then they get nothing. Spouse wages, savings or sale of their cottage or car can be the solution.

Director Truls Nordahl in Nav Rogaland points out that the situation will burn under the feet of many.

– Big pressure speeds job search when they are seriously approaching the border of losing unemployment benefits from Nav according to Nordahl.
