The Ministry for Culture announced 10 million Nok for efforts to ensure that children and young people can participate in organized recreational activities regardless of their parents’ finances.
– This money will help ensure that children from economically disadvantaged families can attend at least one leisure activity per week. To achieve good solutions municipalities, local associations and other key partners must team up. The projects will have ‘transfer value’ and inspire others, so not all must start from “scratch,” said Culture Minister Linda Hofstad Helland.
The pilot projects will create the basis for a systematic and sustained cooperation between volunteers, public bodies and other relevant stakeholders, the Ministry stated.
The application deadline is September 15 this year.
