100 drivers were stopped for speeding by the Traffic Police in Rogaland and Hordaland on Wednesday. 13 of them lost their licenses.

There has been a very high amount of violations, between eight and ten per hour. It is twice as high as the average of a regular week, Head of the Traffic Police (UP) in western Norway, Terje Oksnes, said to Bergens Tidende.
On E39 in Haugsvær in Hordaland, a total of 60 drivers were stopped in the 60 km/h zone. Two of them had their driving licenses temporarily seized, and the most serious speed offenses were at 86 km / h.
In Rogaland, at the E39 in Bjerkreim, 40 motorists were stopped. Here  eleven drivers had their licences temporarily seized, and the biggest speed violation was at 139 km / h. This stretch is an 80 km/h zone .
Both controls lasted around five hours. Oksnes informs that the stretches are largely used for long distance traffic.
– Many of the motorists have to drive far, and so they take the chance that there will be no controls, the head of UP chief says.
