189 boat refugees rescued by Norwegian rescue boat

The crew of the Norwegian rescue boat Peter Henry von Koss rescued 189 refugees and migrants from the Aegean Sea on Friday night.
The Norwegian rescue boat rescued boat people from inflatable boats, according to NCIS, who described the Saturday night on the Aegean sea as very busy.
In addition to the 189 persons who were taken on board the rescue boat Peter Henry von Koss, the crew observed several people escaping safely to land on their own.
The rescue boat Peter Henry von Koss, patrolling between Lesvos and Turkey and assisting the Greek authorities in border controls,  have taken on board some 2,000 people in distress in total. In addition, the rescue boat has towed ashore boats containing  almost 1,800 migrants in total. The rescue boat has been included in the Frontex operation Poseidon.
