Two Romanian women have been taken into custody after police found 22,000 prescription pills and almost 63,000 kroner in cash during a raid in Oslo.

The women were arrested in Herslebs street in central Oslo last week.

The tablets were partly found on their person and in a car they possessed closeby. The arrest join what the police perceive as an increase in sales of tablets from Eastern Europeans without a permanent address in Norway.

– The majority who have been arrested for the sale or possession of tablets, or been expelled on suspicion of tablet sales, state that they reside in the area to beg or sell the street magazine “People are people,” wrote Oslo police in a statement.

On November 9th, police arrested a Romanian man with 6,300 prescription tablets in the same area as the two women. He also possessed a car parked in the area.
