Last year there was a registered turnover of just over 25 million liters of pure alcohol in Norway . That means nearly 6 liters of pure alcohol per capita for every person over 15 years of age.
This is a decrease of 0.09 liters or 1.5 percent from 2015, according to figures from Statistics Norway (SSB). If you compare the  fourth quarter of 2015 with the same quarter last year, the statistics show a slight increase in sales of alcohol.
Measured in the litres of the products the registered turnover in 2015 was almost 76 million liters of wine. Sales of beer was just over 240 million liters, while the turnover was over 11 million liters of liquor and slightly over 14 million liters of alcopops.
There has been an increase in sales of wine and alcopops and a drop in the sales of beer and spirits.
The figures do not include alcohol purchased by Norwegians abroad or in duty free shops.
