defends decision
Aftenposten’s editor in chief Espen Egil Hansen says he has not been contacted by US law enforcement. He defended his decision to take the pictures.
– There has been an incident where 49 people are killed. All the insight, knowledge and information that can be found on the person who was responsible and what lead him to do this, is interesting, he says.
He nevertheless made it clear that the pictures, especially the picture of the room to the killer’s son, has sparked debate, even within the newsroom.
– I think it was right, but not unproblematic, to publish the pictures. It is possible to discuss whether it was necessary to show the child’s room, for example,  Hansen says.
