The oil services company Aibel AS will be responsible for engineering work when Statoil will develop the Snorre A platform with several underwater frames.

If the company could fulfill the deliveries, it can run for five years and employ up to 270 employees, wrote the newspaper Stavanger Aftenblad.

Statoil will spend between 22 and 25 billion NOK on upgrading the Snorre field. Among other things, it requires several subsea frames.

The company can extract further around 190 million barrels of oil from the field.

– This is an important project for Aibel providing lots of work and opportunities for our office in Stavanger, says incoming CEO Mads Andersen in Aibel.

The project will be managed from Aibel’s headquarters in Stavanger, but will also provide work at the company’s yard in Haugesund which they perform the construction work.
