The Directorate of Immigration (UDI) announced on Monday that they are looking for 10,000 more accomodations nationally at new reception centers. The preferred startup for the new asylum centers who will provide the accomodations is set at the beginning of June this year.
The Directorate  of Immigration still needs more accomodations in order to replace some temporary accommodation solutions that was established last fall.
– Thousands of the so-called emergency spaces that were created will be closed down. These persons will be moved to ordinary reception centers. This is one of the reason we now are lookin for 10,000 new accomodations at reception centers nationally,  assistant deputy Per Engan-Skei UDI said to the news agency NTB.
In addition, the UDI have some extra accomodations available in order to handle fluctuations in arrivals of asylum seekers to Norway.
– The refugee situation right now is very demanding for Norway and the rest of Europe. It is very difficult to predict how things will develop, and we have to try to be as prepared as possible, says Engan-Skei.
In 2016 it is expected that  33,000 asylum seekers may arrive in Norway, but contingency plans are account for for 60,000.
