When the police at Storskog believed they did not have the capacity to return all the asylum seekers who came from Russia, Justice Minister Anders Anundsen intervened and ordered them to return the asylum seekers to Russia.

This information appears in the draft for the  so- called experience survey the Police Directorate has made of the situation when about 5,000 asylum seekers came to Storskog from Russia last fall.
When the government’s new instruction rejected without substantive discussion of asylum seekers coming from Russia was implemented,  the political leadership of the Ministry of Justice  took control of the border station, newspaper VG reports.
Although all the deported asylum seekers were returned to Norway by the Russian border guards after a few minutes,  Anundsen and his state secretary Joran Kallemyr (FRP), who was present at Storskog, demanded that the police would continue to send out people with nonce-visa. The police felt run over,  iFinnmark who discussed the issue at the beginning of the week, writes. Anundsen will not comment on the preliminary report. The Ministry will await the final report before it makes any comments.
