Municipalities asked to watch out for abuse abroad during the holidays

The government asks local and regional authorities to be pay particular attention to youth who are at risk of being forced into marriage, genital mutilation or subjected to other abuses during stays abroad.

Before the start of the  summer holidays at the schools .  the government will   send a letter to the country’s local and regional authorities to be look out for youth who are at risk of abuse during the holiday. The government has for several years sent this type of letter to the schools before the start of the summer holidays.

– The ministers that wrote the letter ask the municipalities to do what they can   prevent children and young people being sent out of Norway to parents of origin or third countries where the purpose of the trip is for the child / youth to be forced into marriage or left abroad against their will and to be on guard for situations and activities that may lead to this , the government write on ots websites.
