Asylum seekers injured after knife attack at reception centre

Two men are sent to Molde hospital with knife injuries after being attacked by a third man at Tingvoll reception center in More og Romsdal.
A further man is receiving treatment in hospital after having got an injured leg as he fled from the attacker, police in Møre og Romsdal said . All those involved are residents at the reception center at Tingvoll.

The police was notified about the incident at 16.10 on Wednesday.

– We do not know the full story, and do not know what happened since we have not had time to undertake any questioning yet, says head of operations Tove Anita Asp to news agency NTB.

The perpetrator, who is in his 20s, also had to get medical treatment for a cut of unknown origin. He has been arrested, according to Asp. There is little evidence that the four people involved were seriously injured, according to the Operations officer.

– I do not know the extent of damage, but it is not thought to be life-threatening injuries to the two that have knife injuries, she said.

The four have different nationalities, according Aura Avis. Asp says she does not know where the victims come from, but says to NTB that the suspected perpetrator is from the Middle East.
