On Sunday the bereaved will get to see the place where the helicopter crashed at Turøy west of Bergen Friday.
Six of the victims of the accident were residents of Bergen. On Saturday and Sunday the municipality will fly the flags at half mast. Several other places will also fly the flag at half mast.
On Saturday it was announced that three flights were to be carried out with Super Puma helicopters, just one day after the tragic accident with a similar machine. Two helicopters were sent from Bergen Airport Flesland to Oseberg and Statfjord respectively .
– Both flights are carried out as a part of a search and rescue operation, and are therefore exempt from the ban from CAA. All platforms will have a helicopter on standby. That’s why we’ve flown these helicopters into the North Sea. They are to be placed on the platform, spokesman Claus Sonberg in CHC Helikopter Service said to NRK news.
In addition to this, Bristow carried out a flight from Ekofisk to hospital in Aberdeen.
On Friday CAA introduced a flight ban for all helicopters of this type, and the producer Airbus Helicopters did the same. This does not apply to search, rescue and lifesaving mission
