Foreign Minister Brende describes the signing of the peace agreement in Colombia as powerful. He was present when the historic agreement was signed.
– Both President Juan Manuel Santos and FARC leader Timoshenko was clear that the armed conflict is over and that they now are entering into a peaceful process.
They made clear commitments in a ceremony which brought out strong emotions among the public, Brende said when speaking on the telephone to news agency NTB shortly after the ceremony is over.
– It was also touching on behalf of Norway to hear the thanks we got after many years of efforts as facilitator along with Cuba, he said.
