Bus drove in mountain-wall at Sauherad

A 59 years old bus driver was critically injured when a public bus with eight passengers aboard ran into a rock wall in Sauherad municipality in Telemark Sunday afternoon.

The accident occurred at county road 360, Sauheradvegen, on Akkerhaugen at 12:40. The bus was a regular bus service from the company Nettbuss driving from Notodden to Gvarv.

Police efforts leader on site, Sondre Dahl, signifying the 59 years old driver who critically injured.

– He was treated by a doctor on site but was sent to Ullevål hospital by an air ambulance. The condition is critical but unresolved, says Dahl to Varden.

The bus hit the cliff on the right side of the road before it was turned back again and hit the crash barrier on the other side.

Then crashed the bus across the road again before expedition stopped in the mountain wall, says Dahl.

None of the passengers were physically injured, but all were taken to the emergency room for the check.

Efforts manager states that the reason for the accident is probably because the driver was unwell.
