The Civil Aviation Authority, which is responsible for security in Norwegian aviation is concerned about the future security situation after cuts in controls of aircraft and helicopters.

CAA believes security is satisfactory, but say they approve landing without having seen them and that aircraft are not controlled properly, wrote newspaper Bergens Tidende.

The newspaper’s review of documents was sent between the Authority and the Ministry of Transport, it shows that every fifth of all planned audits were not done last year, two thirds of planned audits to check that planes and helicopters airworthiness was not completed, and that only 16 of 41 recommended safety measures for domestic helicopters was completed.
