Danes aimed to import over 100 kilos of cannabis to Norway

Two Danish men were detained in Oslo district court for four weeks for the import of large quantities of cannabis to Norway.It was approximately 100 kilos.

 

The two were arrested recently and were both questioned by Kripos police on Wednesday before being sentenced for detention on Thursday afternoon, wrote VG newspaper.

“We have arrested two Danes and charged them for the import of a large batch of cannabis to Norway. It’s well over 100 kilos,” said police adviser, Håvar Underland of Kripos.

Both men pled not guilty but were detained for four weeks with a ban on letters and on visits and full isolation.

The two, a man in his 50s and a man in his late 60’s, are known by Danish police from earlier times. The oldest man had previously been convicted of organising smuggling of nearly 6 tons of cannabis from Morocco to Denmark in the 1990’s. The man in his 50’s had been previously convicted of importing 700 kilos of cannabis from the Netherlands to Denmark.

Kripos criminal investication investigated the new case in Norway and have had contact with Danish police in the investigation.

Norwegian police have also arrested and charged another three people in the case. These will be presented for detention on Friday.
