Dead man found in Vengsøya identified as a British fisherman

The body of a man in his 50s who was found dead on Vengsøya in Troms last week has now been identified as a fisherman from the UK, according to police.

The Briton is identified as Roger Brian Hart. He was 55 years old, was a fisherman and stayed at Vengsøya in connection with work, police say in a press release on Thursday.

The man was found dead on October 3 in an apartment at a fishing reception on the island, located northwest of Tromsø. A short time later, a 29-year-old man reported it to the police. He is in custody and charged with bodily harm.

The deceased is in autopsy, but the autopsy did not give a clear cause of death. Further investigation will be for obtaining and reviewing technical material and questioning witnesses.
