Woman found dead in car on Romerike – man charged with murder
A woman is found dead in a car at Feiring in Eidsvoll. The police have arrested a man who was in the same car. He is charged with murder.
– Because of the circumstances of the dead woman, the man is arrested and charged with murder, says Attorney in the East Police District, Åsmund Yli to NTB.
The police are initially very sparse with information regarding the case. They believe they know the man’s identity and work to identify the murdered woman. Yli will not comment on if the police believe there was a previous relationship between the two.
Additional information will be available later on.
Notifications about shoots being fired
– We received a notification around 6 am from witnesses regarding a car who had ditched near county road 33 at Feiring in Eidsvoll. When we got to the site, we found the car with a dead woman inside together with the man who is now charged, says Yli.
The charged man is transported to hospital and taken care of by health personnel, according to VG.
In addition to the wording “circumstances surrounding the dead woman,” the police will not provide additional information the background of the murder indictment, or confirm Toten Blad’s information that a person supposedly is shot at the site where the car was found.
Witness: Shots were fired
Oppland Arbeiderblad has also received witness information indicating that shots have been fired in the area where the car was found. A woman claims the police has informed that shots were fired and that the perpetrator was not yet apprehended. This information is not verified by the police.
– It’s far too early to say something about where and how the murder happened. What we possess of further information, we will not disclose presently, says Yli.
The police announce that they will make a press statement at noon.
