Six years after the Data Supervision revealed the illegal storage of DNA profiles of innocent people, there are still many such  profiles being illegally stored.
The audit discovered in 2010 that the Institute of Forensic Medicine at the University of Oslo had an illegal DNA database containing DNA profiles both of persons acquitted in court, victims and witnesses. The registry is currently owned by the Institute of Public Health, and thousands of profiles are still stored there, the newspaper Aftenposten writes.
– This is not good at all, and I get a little exasperated that they have not done it yet. We are disappointed that they have not been deleted even after the principal NCIS have said they would,  Director Kim Ellertsen in the Data Supervision says.
