Dog shot after attacking police in Oppland

Two people got biten when a dog attacked in Kvam, Oppland. The dog was shot and killed after attacking the police.

 

According to Gudbrandsdølen Dagningen (GD), the police were dispatched to the incident at 10:30 Friday morning. A man and a woman had been bitten by a dog at Kvam center, which led them to the emergency room with injury to both their hands and arms.

“These are severe bite injuries. The police were also attacked by the animal, but not bitten,” said operations manager Marianne Brun at the Inland Police District to NTB.

GD writes that the dog was a large muscular mixed breed. The dog was owned by the injured woman.

The killing was carried out at the request of the owner and in consultation with the veterinarian.

Operations manager Brun says that the police will investigate the matter further and that they have not yet decided whether they will charge the owner.
