The Egmont Fund will provide 37.8 million kroner in support to newly arrived refugee children and their families in Norway and Denmark.
Many of the newly arrived refugee children are a part of the Foundation’s target group of vulnerable and disadvantaged children. Targeted support for these children is therefore an extension of the fund’s history and other measures, the fund said in a statement.
– We want to help children in the current situation and help to provide them with a great start to life in Denmark and Norway. We need an extraordinary effort and a broad collaboration to find lasting solutions to ensure that refugee children get off to a good start , Henriette Christiansen, director of Egmont Foundation’s support and grants management, says.
37.8 million kroner have been set aside for newly arrived refugee children and their families over the next two years. The support will go to organizations and initiatives that provide psychosocial support so that children can settle in a new country and get off to a good start in school and kindergarten.
Organizations, ministries, municipalities, research institutions and government institutions will be partners and grant recipients. Egmont Foundation is a foundation that works with media activities and charitable work. The fund annually hands out over 100 million to children and adolescents.
