Less than a year after it was launched, the Russian information agency Sputnik shuts down  their websites in the Nordic languages. Sputnik is a news service which is owned and operated by the Russian Government, and replaced the Voice of Russia and the English version of RIA Novosti. The service is intended to be an alternative to the “Western propaganda”, The Independent Barents Observer writes. Sputnik launched the Web pages in Norwegian, Swedish, Danish and Finnish in april 2015.
