Final stage in the negotiations on the Oslo Package

An agreement has been reached on going ahead with an expansion of a part of the highway between Asker and Oslo negotiations on Oslo Package 3, according to sources talking to NTB .

An increase in   toll rates with an extra fee paid during rush hour on E18 and a new subway tunnel through downtown Oslo is among the elements that the parties to the talks are also trying to get in place.
It was originally proposed to build the 4.5 kilometers of highway in the so-called western corridor. But according go  information given to NTB by sources close to the negotiations, only a 1.5 km railway line between Lysaker and Strand will be developed initially. The highway will also get fewer lanes than originally planned.
The agreement is scheduled to be signed Sunday or Monday, according to newspaper VG.
The talks between the City of Oslo, Akershus county, NPRA and Jernbaneverket is in its final stages, a month on overtime.
– A new meeting is planned on Sunday. There are still details that remain to be settled, but we are quite close to an agreement now, a source close to the negotiations says.
