Fire departments around the country got 36 firetrucks as gift

36 brand new and shiny red fire trucks roll onto as many fire stations around the country which will push out a number of old and long term used vehicles.

Thursday afternoon famous Gjensidige Foundation handed over the 36 modern fire trucks to different local fire departments.

They are called super firetrucks and constitute the so-called folk gift on the occasion of the commemoration of the 200th anniversary of Gjensidige Insurance. The cars have a total value of 190 million NOK.

– Many fire brigade struggling with old and outdated vehicles. Meanwhile, the fire truck is the important tool for the crew in order to save lives and property.

Therefore, we are pleased that we can contribute to increased fire emergency locally, says director Unn Dehlen in Gjensidige Foundation, owner of the largest insurance company.
