The Red Cross happily prides itself on the fact that so far this Easter there has not been any avalanches. “No avalanche is good news,” is what we say.

At 17:00 Monday evening, the total number of Red Cross missions so far this Easter was roughly the annual average that the auxiliary corps have become accustomed to: Five searches and 62 retrieval missions.

On Monday, two searches and 17 retrievals were carried out.

“Good weather and small avalanche risk seems to be the reason we have had a quiet start to Easter,” says Rune Guldahl, National Council member of the Red Cross Relief Society.
