Foreign Minister travelling to Eastern Europe

When Foreign Minister Brende  travels to several countries in eastern Europe this week, the security policy is on the agenda.

The upcoming NATO summit, relations with Russia, migration and discussions on bilateral relations, are the main topics when the foreign minister travels to Montenegro, Ukraine and Hungary 4th.-7th. of July.

In Ukraine, Brende will meet President Petro Poroshenko, in addition to the Ukrainian prime minister and foreign minister.

– It is not long since Ukraine got a new government and this visit is a good opportunity to discuss the status of the internal reform efforts and the conflict situation in eastern Ukraine, according to a press release from the Foreign Ministry.

Montenegro, which soon becomes a NATO member, should be visited to show the Foreign Minister supports this option. In Hungary Brende will be in meetings with Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó
