None of the residents were injured, but four apartments were damaged during a fire in a housing block in Oslo on Sunday afternoon.

The police were notified of the fire in the four-story high block at 14:20, and an hour later it was announced that it was extinguished.

An apartment in each of the floors of the building was burned. It appears that the fire started on the outside of one of the apartments and that it spread further from there.

A total of 52 people live in the building, 23 of them in the area that was affected by the fire. Some of the residents evacuated themselves while others were evacuated by the police.

Operations Manager Tor Jøkling in Oslo Police District emphasizes to NTB that modern apartment buildings from the 50s and on are secured against dispersion and built so that the apartments are almost free standing cells.
