Three men and a woman from Bulgaria was convicted in the Court of Appeal of organized trafficking of Polish women in Norway.
Three of the four are related. It revolves around a husband, wife and their son and another man. The appeal court has sentenced them to prison terms of three and a half years to five and a half years.
The four are convicted of having exploited and forced Polish women into prostitution in Norway. The court believes they transported the  women to Norway, demanded that they should prostitute themselves and give up most of what they earned.
For some of them the judgments are somewhat stricter than when the case came before Oslo District Court. When the matter was heard in court, it was the first time the so-called mafia clause was used in a sentence for trafficking as a result of investigation by the Oslo police.
