On Friday, spy suspect, Frode Berg, was presented for prolonged detention in the city court in Moscow. Next week it’s a year since Berg was arrested.

On Wednesday next week, December 5th,it is a year since the former border inspector,Frode Berg, was arrested in Moscow and charged with espionage.

On Friday he will be presented for prolonged detention in the Lefortovo court in Moscow.

Bergen’s Norwegian lawyer,Brynjulf Risnes, informed NTB news earlier this week that a lawsuit may be imminent.

Risnes hopes that the spy case could come to court already in January.

According to Aftenposten newspaper,Frode Berg’s Russian lawyer,Ilja Novikov, had been refused to talk to the Norwegian three times in the past two weeks.

Berg was moved to a better cell two weeks ago,and has had telephone contact with his family wrote Aftenposten.

Novikov said he does not think Berg will be imprisoned in this case, nor will he be pardoned.

His assessment is that FSB, the Russian security police, will escort Berg out of Russia, and deliver him on the border.

“But it will not happen without a deal” Novikov told Aftenposten.
