Starting next week, both the holiday pay and reimbursed tax will be transferred to accounts in Norway,a staggering 165 billion kroner in total.

Preliminary figures from the tax authorities show that 3 out of 4 taxpayers seem to get some of their money back after paying their taxes. The amount of money they receive averages 11,000 kroner, if all this money is added up, it totals 30 billion kroner. This is  in addition to the disbursement of some 135 billion NOK in tax-free holiday pay.

In a survey Response Analysis conducted for SpareBank 1  three out of five  respond that they will spend most of their holiday money on travel and holidays. Two out of five say that they will be saving some of it, while one out of five will make extra downpayments on  their debts. Every tenth of the respondents said they will use it to pay unpaid bills.
