It is too late for Rygge airport

Even if politicians should abruptly turn and scrap the air passenger duty, it is probably too late to save Rygge, says management at the airport.

Even if one would turn now, at quarter past twelve. The damage has already occurred, says CEO Pål Tandberg at Moss Airport Rygge said.

Even if the controversial air passenger levy were to end up being dropped during the negotiations on the revised national budget for the weekend, it has gone too long, he says.
– We are far overdue already. It is beyond my control to say whether it is possible to correct this, but it looks very complicated, says Tandberg.

– The process has shown that the political risk for private investors in Norwegian aviation is too large. We have a predictability that is equal to zero, he notes.
