A new Russian Gallup Poll finds that one-third of Russian citizens between the ages of 18 & 24 desire to emigrate out of Russia; with Germany listed as the most popular choice of foreign destination by Russia’s younger population.
The Russian survey finds that 31% of Russian youth report that they sometimes think of emigrating without returning; the first real increase in 5 years.
GERMANY, USA & SPAIN
Over the past four years, Gallup survey totals have seen about 21% to 26% of Russia’s young respondents indicating an interest in emigrating, but no cause for the increase was postulated.
Beyond Germany, one-third of Russia’s youth desire to move from Russia and live in either the United States or Spain, respectively.
NO RETURN
Gallup Institute leader Stephan Lvov gave comment upon the latest Russian survey, saying; “Russian youth desiring to emigrate hasn’t traditionally been associated with leaving without thinking of returning.’ –
“This latest survey indicates a low desire within Russian youth to ever return to Russia after possibly emigrating away,” – said Lvov.
When adjusted for its vast land-size, Russia’s population density is about 8 people per square kilometer, making it one of the most sparsely populated countries in the world.
