Findings of  Listeria in Coop Salad – withdrawn from the market

Listeria bacteria have been found in packets of ready-cut salad from Coop, which is distributed to stores in Stavanger and the rest of Rogaland.

The findings are in packages labelled «Grillsalat» (Grill Salad), with the sell-by date of August 20th, 2018. People in Rogaland who have this salad at home are encouraged to return it to the store to get a refund, writes The Norwegian Food Safety Authority.

Listeria is found in many places in nature, and the risk of it being found in food is therefore relatively large. Most people ingest the bacteria often, without being sick by it. For people with an impaired immune system, including pregnant women, elderly and children, listeria can lead to serious illness.
