Listhaug is Hagen’s clear favorite

The day when the  Progress Party needs a new leader, Sylvi Listhaug should step into that position,  Carl I. Hagen says.

Hagen has several times praised the immigration minister, and in an interview with Aftenposten he mentions that he considers her to be the obvious choice for being the next leader of the Progress party.
– Sylvi currently seems to be the best candidate by far to succeed Siv Jensen in her position as leader of the party, when a succesor is needed to be found. She is very popular with the rest of the party, but also among ordinary people,  the former Progress Party leader says.
Among the things that he lists as reasons for Listhaug being the best choice for succeeding Jensen when her time as a leader of the party comes to an end, is that she has spoken plainly and to the point as a immigration and integration minister and also has good background  and no weaknesses.
Finance Minister Siv Jensen will this weekend be re-elected as party leader in FRP. She told the newspaper that it is nice that Hagen has  nice words to say about Listhaug, but that many people will probably have their own opinion on the topic “when this becomes relevant.”
