The proposal comes from the a court message on integration of refugees. The report came in May. Listhaug’s proposal comes in response to attacks in Cologne in January this year, where women were assaulted during New Year’s Celebrations.

“It is essential that all who come here to understand Norwegian culture, Norwegian law, and Norwegian rules, the things were summarize as Norwegian folk customs,” Listhaug told VG.

She plans on spending the first 50 classes of Norwegian training, a total of 175 hours, in the reception centers teaching newly arrived asylum seekers Norwegian values and civics.
